the end of celebrity worship

The collective distaste for celebrity is sharpening, but as it does, we are entering a period of stagnancy as we continuously miscalculate how to make our criticisms productive. We don’t want to acknowledge or initiate the next step. What is required of us is More — action and discipline — two things the Western world is deeply averse to.
