I wasn't sure I wanted to write about this.
And yet, here I am, unable to avoid the barrage of memes and idiotic identification; the inescapable phenomenon surrounding the CEO shooter.
I cannot imagine a better example of American stupidity and lack of media literacy.
The burning desire to attribute intent and relatability. I barely saw anyone question who could have hired him and even fewer contend with the fact that he was likely working for someone just as morally corrupt as the man he shot. This probability was promptly cast to the side in favor of a more romantic and inspiring narrative.
It's pure Batman fantasy.
Immediately, the public claimed him as One of Them. This is quite funny when you think about it - the passive, palliative American hoards seeing themselves in a man who took action (for whatever reason)
As always, the identification process is shallow
