I know, I know, I said I wouldn’t write about politics this month. And, to be clear, that’s not what I’m about to do. Well, not really. I just feel the need to write this one thought out because I cannot stand reading about this shit anymore.

A short rant about the idea of a “leftist Joe Rogan” before I go back to writing about love.


We do not need more commentators, we do not need more personalities. We do not need more careerists willing to exploit parasocial dynamics to make millions, to feed their deranged egos. This is, in fact, the last thing we fucking need.

What we need is agency, the ability to think, fewer middlemen, and no entertainment shackles.

We need time, each other, and our focus back.

We have robbed ourselves of effect and force because it is easier to be consumers. Our preferred state as spectators has brought us to this moment, to this monumentally idiotic discourse, to the desire for a “leftist Joe Rogan” to save us.

We seem to think our only role or responsibility is our ability to elect a new king, a leader who will allow us to remain passive. We want someone else to think for us, to digest for us, to shit for us.

Shameless society of absolute spineless cucks.

The existence of this desire proves the stunning lack of political imagination in the US and the ever-growing devotion and loyalty to entertainment.

Somehow people still wonder, still dare to ask me what my fucking problem with the instrumentalization of podcasters and comedians is.

Why do I fret over celebrity culture and parasocial attachment?

This is the reason.
